About Cathy Fujimoto

Cathy Fujimoto CMT, CLT, CIMT
Cathy Fujimoto is a Certified Massage Therapist with extensive experience in hospital-based integrative care, including those in palliative, hospice, oncology and pediatric settings. Her work is rooted in providing gentle, compassionate support while creating a safe, calming environment for those she serves.
Background
Cathy Fujimoto is a Certified Massage Therapist through the California Massage Therapy Council (CAMTC) and has been in practice since 2005. She completed the Master Practitioner Program at the California Healing Arts College in Santa Monica, where she developed a strong foundation in both therapeutic and integrative bodywork.
With over two decades of experience, Cathy’s work is rooted in compassionate, client-centered care. Her background includes leadership as a Massage Director within a physical therapy setting in Los Angeles, where she discovered her passion for supporting individuals navigating medical conditions and recovery. This experience shaped her approach—blending clinical knowledge with a deeply nurturing presence.
Cathy specializes in pediatric and oncology massage and is a Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT) and Certified Infant Massage Teacher (CIMT). She integrates a variety of modalities—including Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Swedish, Shiatsu, Thai Yoga Bodywork, Oscillation, and Nurturing Touch —to create customized sessions that support each client’s unique physical and emotional needs.
Her advanced clinical training includes a 500-hour hospital-based integrative medicine program through the Institute for Health & Healing at Sutter Health. Cathy has provided massage therapy in a range of medical settings, including Sutter Health, UCSF Medical Center, and UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland, where she worked across multiple departments, including pediatric oncology, neonatal, pain management, and palliative care.
She has also contributed to the development of oncology massage programs, including consulting with Kaiser Permanente San Francisco to help pilot services within their adult wellness program.
Cathy is deeply committed to serving vulnerable populations. She currently provides compassionate massage therapy for pediatric hospice and palliative care patients in Alameda County and volunteers her time supporting children and families in respite and end-of-life care. Her work focuses on comfort, connection, and enhancing quality of life during some of the most sensitive stages of care.
Before transitioning into massage therapy, Cathy spent 15 years in the corporate sector as an IT Project Administrator and Coordinator for organizations including Boeing, Countrywide, Ticketmaster, and Universal Studios. This chapter of her life ultimately led her to pursue a more meaningful, service-oriented path—one centered on healing, presence, and human connection.
Outside of her practice, Cathy enjoys spending time with family and friends, being in nature, traveling, gardening, and embracing the importance of self-care.
